We think hiring is broken.
We are fixing it.
Resumes showcase self-promotion. Interview whiteboards test memorized trivia. Taqeem provides undeniable, empirical proof of what developers can actually build.
Our Mission
Why Credential Inflation Broke Technical Hiring
Over the past decade, technical credentials have suffered catastrophic inflation. Resumes are stuffed with algorithmic buzzwords, certificates are issued for passively watching video lectures, and generative AI can generate plausible-sounding take-home essays and interview answers in seconds.
The inevitable result? Engineering managers are drowning under thousands of nearly identical PDF applications. To cope, companies retreat to crude proxies: prestigious universities, former big-tech logos, or arbitrary whiteboard hazing that tests interview performance instead of code craftsmanship.
In that broken system, exceptional developers with untraditional backgrounds get filtered out by automated keyword scanners before an engineer ever looks at their work. Meanwhile, companies make costly mis-hires because candidates were polished speakers rather than solid builders.
We started Taqeem to replace speculative claims with reproducible proof. The only way to know if someone can write maintainable, robust software is to watch them build it in real Git environments with realistic constraints.
Core Principles
What We Stand For
Four non-negotiable commitments that govern every line of code we write and every score we issue.
Accuracy over speed
A shallow 10-minute quiz provides false confidence. We evaluate software engineers on a real coding task graded against hidden tests we run ourselves, and then ask them to defend that code in an interview.
Candidate privacy first
Developers own their work and their data. Assessment telemetry and monitoring exist exclusively to guarantee session integrity. Candidate contact details are never exposed to recruiters without explicit consent.
No fabricated claims
We refuse to publish fake metrics, imaginary enterprise logos, or unearned compliance certifications. We state exactly what our assessment pipeline tests, and just as importantly, what it does not establish.
Open about what we are and aren't
Taqeem is not a crystal ball. A verified badge means we ran their code against hidden tests and they defended it in an interview — it does not predict culture fit or domain-specific business intuition. We are honest about our scope.
Our Structure
The Team
We are a small, focused team.
We are software engineers, evaluators, and system architects building from Cairo, Egypt with a global standard of craft.
We do not employ armies of aggressive telemarketers or parade stock-photo advisory boards. Everyone working on Taqeem writes code, refines rubrics, monitors telemetry integrity, and talks directly with candidates and engineering leaders.
Keeping our team lean ensures our incentives remain pure: we focus on building defensible evaluation infrastructure that engineering managers actually trust.
Business Model
How We Make Money
We believe developers should never have to pay a toll just to prove their hard-earned skills. Any candidate can take assessments, verify their abilities, and build a public verified profile free of charge.
Companies and hiring teams pay a team or enterprise fee to search our verified talent pool, inspect granular code telemetry reports, and send direct contact requests to high-signal candidates.
